Peer Review Process

All submissions are initially assessed by an Editor, who decides whether or not the article fits the scope of the journal and is suitable for peer review. Manuscripts considered suitable are typically peer-reviewed in a double-blind process by independent experts. Reviewers are asked to assess manuscripts for scope, originality, clarity, validity, sound methodology, significance and rigour. The typical period of a peer review is 60 days. Reviewers are chosen according to their expertise regarding the topic of the submitted manuscripts and their eminence in the field.

Based on the reviewer reports the Editor will make a recommendation for rejection, minor or major revisions, or acceptance. Overall editorial responsibility rests with the journal’s Editor-in-Chief, who is supported by an expert international Editorial Board.
